Peeling epoxy is almost always a prep failure, not a product failure. Paint-on kits skip grinding and moisture testing. Every EDC install starts with CSP 2-3 diamond grinding and ASTM F2170 moisture testing — it's written into standard EDC-QS-2025, and the installer's photos of both steps are reviewed before the project closes.

Hot-tire pickup happens when cheap coatings sit on top of concrete instead of bonding into it. EDC systems bond into a ground, open-pore surface and finish with a hot-tire-rated top coat. It's the single most common failure we engineered the standard to prevent.

Uncoated epoxy ambers under UV — that's chemistry, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. EDC systems in sun-exposed spaces are finished with UV-stable polyaspartic or urethane top coats, specified per project.

High-gloss coatings can be. That's why slip rating is part of your spec, not an afterthought: anti-slip additive comes standard on patios, entries, and commercial kitchens, and is available on any system at no added lead time.

DIY kits typically fail in 1–5 years — thin single coats over unground concrete. A professional 3-coat system over prepared concrete runs 15–20 years. Per year of floor life, the professional system is the cheaper one.
